i don't often paint owls these days, but something in me was just calling out to paint some new whimsical owls. these are the first that have a little bit of the new techniques and colors i've been using. i'm kind of loving just a splash of red and pink neon!

for each owl i used every art supply i've been collecting in my studio...water soluble oil pastels, watercolors, acrylics, india ink, alcohol inks, vintage wallpaper, book pages, and glitter! on top i applied a vintage decoupage that gave each painting a lovely warm hue. then i added a layer of wax for a protective, matte finish.
