Answering Your Questions & a NEW Giveaway!

Lately, I've been thinking about living more simply and fully.

I'm writing to you from the beaches of southern California and remembering just how much the sunshine and walking barefoot fill up my heart.

Four years ago I wrote a novel about a girl who could jump into her drawings. But I got scared about sharing it with the world. Now I've been rereading and editing that novel pool-side, with kids splashing and playing, and it feels like the perfect spot to finish my book.

And I can’t wait for you to read it.

All of this writing has me back working on my creative business ebook too, which is full of what has and hasn't worked for me in my business and life as an artist. I know it will be very helpful for anyone starting on their own creative journey.

If you have a question about my creative process, business or art, please ask here and I'll do my best to answer in my ebook or on my blog.

In the meantime, I'm so excited to start painting with everyone in HOW TO PAINT AN OWL 2 (class starts Monday!)!

Here are a few snapshots from my most recent every days...

And, as an extra special THANK YOU for all of your kindness and support, I'm hosting a New GIVEAWAY to win a spot in HOW TO PAINT AN OWL 2 over on the lovely Christy Tomlinson's blog.

Enter the GIVEAWAY Here.

*update: the giveaway has ended. thank you to everyone who entered.*

I hope you're enjoying things in your part of the world.

Have a wonderful weekend!

xoxo,

  3. Hi, Juliette I discovered your blog yesterday and loved it especially the owls. You say in the side bar that we can use an image if we credit it back to you. I am starting a favourite artist blog on sundays and I have chosen you. There is a link back to you.

  4. Hi Juliette I just discovered your wonderful art work by way of Sharon who has mentioned your whimsical owls in her blog today. Your work is gorgeous - I do love a bit of whimsy and if it includes animals of any kind so much the better. I have to say I am hugely intrigued by the concept of your novel - what a fantastic idea!

  5. Juliette, my darling husband bought me your original How to Paint an owl course a back in January, and I am totally in love. Hoping to convince him to get me the second course one day.

I would love to hear how you keep your owls and your inspiration fresh. I'm afraid that after a few canvases I'm going to feel like I'm repeating myself.... I'd love to know how you push past that with all the marvellous art you have created.

    1. that's so sweet to hear! i'll try and expand on your question more later, but as for staying fresh and inspired i think that has to do with not being afraid to take chances and try something new. i also keep track of my inspirations in photos throughout the day, so if there's a pattern, style or color combination i see somewhere then i can later add it in some way to my art. that way my work is constantly evolving with my new inspirations.
