This piece was so fun to create! I had no idea I'd be painting a princess girl when I started. And she's quite lovely that the background began with layers of red, white and blue...colors I always seem to come back to. My favorite blanket as a child was a lovely (and rather tattered) red, white and blue with two different quilted designs on either side. So whenever these colors come into play in my artwork, I always get the feeling it's the child in me coming out. And of course this princess is no exception.
To create her dress, I simply had to cut the ruffles from a travel guide on visiting the south of France! I added more of the pages for her crown! She is absolutely dreaming!
