I had one of the most relaxing weekends in ages. I took a spontaneous roadtrip to Kohler, WI and stayed at the Inn on Woodlake. It was supposed to rain the entire weekend, but after a crazy thunder and lightening downpour, it cleared up and got super warm and sunny.
I slept until noon, ate ice cream at the cutest little greenhouse cafe, brought a little hand blender and lots of fruit for smoothies on the balcony in the mornings, packed picnic lunches for the afternoons, and even took naps outside in the grass. In the evening, we found the hotel's outdoor hot tub with a two-sided fireplace overlooking the lake! Stars sparkled everywhere. It was magical and I feel totally inspired to create new paintings for my art opening on Friday!

Isn't Kohler beautiful?!? Your photos are wonderful. Have you ever visited the John Michael Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan? I had no idea you live in Wisconsin - I'm in the metro Milwaukee area.

I didn't know you were near Milwaukee. I partly grew up in Mequon, WI, probably close to you. I haven't visited the art center, but we drove by and it looks wonderful. tons of metal sculpture from the artist residents all around kohler.
