when i was painting these flowers, i really had to stop all of the negative talk that kept popping up in my mind.

i kept questioning these little characters. but having faith in the process made me follow my instincts and just let go so that the painting could emerge, layer by layer.

here's a bit of the creative process...

painting this piece was definitely a lesson in not being afraid to cover up what i'm not liking. 

i was loving my background from the start.

but the characters' faces took a lot of covering up to build into their personalities.

and the process really inspired their title and story...

just when the clouds move in, a super rainbow can open up the sky and renew your BELIEF IN MAGIC.
