a NEW Mixed Media Painting & Process!

TITLE: Always, It Is Yours. Prints available in my shop.

When I started this painting, I had a feeling in mind. I knew my character would be a girl, but I had no idea what she would look like.

She went through so many color changes and layers. I knew I was getting closer and closer. Each time I made a bold move, it further defined her face and features. But it wasn't until the end, when I added my papers, that I realized her story.

I'd placed a paper square just behind her at the right. And then I added what to me looked like a birthday candle flame at the top left. I was just following my intuition, but later realized those two things went together and presented this girl with the perfect gift that was already there. She just had to find it.

........................

Holding on to what she knows best, this girl has been waiting for that perfect thing. Always searching, she finds that what she needs has been with her in the background the entire time. A gift just waiting to be opened. ALWAYS, IT IS YOURS.

.........................

I hope you enjoyed a lovely weekend! I'll be heading back to Wisconsin later this week, but I still have more adventures and new paintings to share with you inspired by my fox sighting on the beach!

  2. This is so beautiful!
Love how her hair flows into the beautiful background.
And the floral design on her sleeve is so clear and gorgeous.
    All the best,
