a little dinner party

i just love having people over for dinner! being wintertime, we often find ourselves prone to hibernating around here. so it's always nice to have something like a dinner party to get everyone together!

i have so many ceramic cups and serving dishes that i've made...

it's fun to get them all out and give everyone their own unique place setting!

we had all of the cookbooks out too, which helped inspire future meals!

the theme this time, was mexican.

someone brought ingredients for margaritas,

brian made yuca, rice and beans! and others brought Jamaica Tea (Hibiscus flower), huevos motulenos, and Tacos al Pastor (pork, cilantro, lime, pineapple, white onion)!

someone else even brought everything to make corn tortillas, including a tortilla press!

i cannot even say how much everything was delicious! and it was so fun to learn new recipes and talk about what we all know how to make! we've decided this absolutely must be a regular get together, each time with a new theme!

we really do love food and cooking around here! and so many people have been asking for our butternut squash and apple soup recipe! so, on wednesday, i'll be posting the soup recipe along with how we make our own vegetable stock!

enjoy!
