a few things that are inspiring me

the darkness of the trees against the winter sky,

gorgeous sunsets over icy lakes,

roadtrips in the rain,

footsteps in the snow (i just love the little patterns the bottoms of shoes make),

and black beans being counted on a wood table in the sun...these colors are amazing!

.................................................................

i'd say, it's a bit of the time to celebrate too! today actually marks one year since my very first post on this little blog! kind of amazing how much has happened in one year!

i never, ever realized just how many wonderful people i would meet through blogging, how it would be such a delightful forum to showcase my art and tell stories, and the place to really allow me to share and connect with the rest of the world!  i was really terrified with the whole idea at first of having a blog. and now i just can't imagine not being here with you!

yes, it is a call for a big celebration! and i think our california vacation is a fabulous place to start! i cannot wait to share the photos with all of you!

  1. I agree with your bloggy sentiments - this forum has opened up so much to me too, encouragement, friendships and support. It is a wonderful invention!
It's always great to point out the beauty in the mundane too - those aren't gloomy winter trees with no leaves, they are contrast and interplay between light and dark. I love seeing with an artist eye!
Congratulations on your one year blogaversary - may the next 12 months be just as productive and full of friendship and inspiration :)
