TITLE: AND THE MUSIC SUITS HER
This is my first piece for Louise's Creative Color Challenge. This week's color, if you couldn't tell, is sunflower yellow. We could use shades of sunflower with black and white.
And since I'm in the habit of doing mixed media paintings, I just had to incorporate some black and white sheet music. I also added layers of spray paint and acrylics, pastel and ink. To me, she really turned into a very Tim Burton-esqe character. I think that was the black and white restriction that got me there. I'm especially in love with her striped socks.
It was really a true test for me to only use yellow, and I might just have to add a skin tone color to her face and maybe, MAYBE a bit more color in the background. But as I was painting, I heard this little refrain in my head and knew the painting had to be called, "And the Music Suits Her."
