Break Free

I have been super busy creating some really fun journals and new paintings, but while they're on the drying table, I wanted to share this new piece with you. I call this adorable fellow, BREAK FREE!

The original mixed media painting will be up at my art show until next week. Archival prints of BREAK FREE are now available in my ETSY ART SHOP.

BREAK FREE 8 X 8 Inch Print of Mixed Media Painting by Juliette Crane
This one reminds me of someone on their lunch break. I used acrylics, pastels, watercolor, ink, and colored pencils. Then I added a small diamond of origami paper at the center which, to me, is like a window into the heart. On top, I've applied an antique decoupage to soften up the blues and add a sense of magic.

  2. I like the pose of this one.

For some reason that diamond on its chest kind of reminded me of Rainbow Fish and its rainbow fin! Haha. :)

  3. I've been wondering just what that diamond on his chest is. Funny you mention Rainbow Fish. I wrote a short story about them...that a magical portal opened when the Rainbow Fish jumped out of the water all at once.
